Welcome! I am a PhD candidate in Political Science at Yale University, specializing in international political economy. My research focuses on international hierarchies, economic coercion, foreign aid, and state-building assistance. In my dissertation, I examine Soviet foreign aid to countries in the Global South during the Cold War. Using archival data, I analyze the logic of Soviet aid allocation and its role in shaping economic and political institutions in recipient countries. I also study mechanisms of political influence and barter trade.
Before graduate school, I was a George F. Kennan Fellow at the Wilson Center, where I studied contemporary Russian politics. Prior to that, I worked as a quantitative researcher at the Center for Advanced Governance in Moscow, Russia, an independent think tank that promotes evidence-based policymaking and collaboration between government agencies and researchers.
My work has been published in East European Politics and Post-Soviet Affairs.
